We are super excited to present this coffee, produced by the indigenous community “Nasa Wesx” of Gaitania. The Nasa Wesx people live in various indigenous territories in Cauca, Huila, and Tolima.

The coffee produced by this community is carefully hand-picked and sorted, removing defects before being sun-dried on raised beds under temperature-controlled conditions until the ideal moisture content is achieved. The Nasa Wesx community are quality and conservation-driven, with the environment being their main focus. With this mentality, they managed to certify all of their coffee as organic.

Gaitania is a village located in the Planadas municipality in the department of Tolima, Colombia. Planadas has a rich history that adds to the charm of its people and the region. It was once a refuge for political prisoners from the Liberal party. Over time, the Liberales and Conservadores developed a good relationship, which led to the renowned kindness of the people from Planadas, a trait well-known throughout the country.

El Indio Natural is a microlot that is 100% Caturra. This variety originated in Minas Gerais, Brazil, as a natural mutation of Red Bourbon. Caturra is notable for producing more coffee and having greater resistance to plant diseases compared to Bourbon. The careful selection and processing methods employed ensure that this coffee maintains a high quality, reflecting the cultural heritage and agricultural expertise of the Nasa Wesx community.
