Alejandro Navarro's journey in the coffee industry began at a young age, assisting his father with coffee marketing as a link between purchase, sales and transportation. Using pack animals on challenging terrain he would often lead transportation of the farms harvest. He also learned about coffee farming from his father, who owned significant farms in the area producing high quality lots.
At the age of 21 Alejandro decided to join the army serving for 15 years, including a decade in intelligence, after leaving the army he briefly worked in coffee in another region, reigniting his passion. In 2017, with his wife Olimpia, he returned to San Andres, Lempira, launching their coffee venture with Catuai and IH90 varieties, later adding Parainema. Since 2022, they've excelled in specialty coffee due to their farm's location, favourable climate, and commitment to processing micro-lots.

The Farm:
San Andres Lempira, situated at the base of El Congolon mountain, is a vital coffee-producing region in Honduras. Its steep slopes and challenging climate yield dense and consistent coffee beans, supporting the local economy and bearing cultural significance. Despite its historically dry conditions, coffee flourishes in the region's shallow yet nutrient-rich soils.
In recent years, the area's high-quality coffee potential has come to the forefront, leading to increased efforts to explore new markets and promote San Andres' coffee. Notably, in the 2023 COE (Cup of Excellence) Honduras competition, five finalists ranked in the Top 15. San Vicente has been actively connecting with new producers and striving to establish the region as a noteworthy hub for specialty coffees in Honduras.
